If you’re planning tree work in Seattle, it’s crucial to understand when and how to post a public notice. In this article, we’ll walk you through the process of filing, printing, and posting your notice using the Seattle Services Portal, along with important information about commercial tree work regulations.
When do I need to post a tree notice?
While not all tree work requires a permit, virtually all tree work requires a Public Notice: https://www.seattle.gov/DPD/Publications/CAM/Tip242D.pdf
Public Notices need to be posted 3 business days prior to tree trimming and 6 business days prior to any tree removal (see SDCI link for guidelines). Again, it is important to note these are business days.
